Queen of all things old Hollywood and glamour, Charlotte Tilbury has been coming out with some stellar new releases lately. But the most anticipated of all was the release of the brand new Airbrush Flawless Foundation. Promising long-wear, high coverage in a natural finish, this foundation certainly sounds like a winner on paper, but how does it perform?
As an absolute Tilbury devotee, this foundation release made me equal parts nervous and excited. Excited because, well, yay new product and a foundation at that, but nervous because I’m expecting it to blow my socks off, which would be a big effort considering I really don’t like full coverage foundations. If I have high expectations they are usually dashed, so right from the beginning, I was in two minds about how this would go.
Let’s take a closer look.

Packaging and Formula
True to the CT style, Airbrush Flawless is housed in a stunning glass bottle, topped with the signature rose gold cap. From the get-go, it is the epitome old school glamour. The product is delivered through a pump and the frosted bottle allows you to see how much product you have left. The formula isn’t too thick, nor is it runny but allows for easy application.
Application and Finish
From the first dab of my beauty blender, I could see just how full coverage Airbrush Flawless is. Not even a damp sponge sheered that baby out. But as I blended it into my skin, it really did sink in instead of sitting on top. There was no collecting in lines, nor did my pores look enhanced. Instead, my skin looked bloody flawless. Skin tone was completely uniform and surprisingly my complexion was looking pretty natural considering the coverage. It isn’t undetectable, but what high coverage foundation is. However, it is pretty damn close.
I found that once applied my skin felt really satiny soft and almost powdery. It is quite a matte finish, that, because of the high coverage, can look a little flat. Though, if you give it a bit of depth or amp up the glow with the CT Hollywood Flawless Filter, and it looks a whole lot more full of life. Illuminating or hydrating primers definitely works better than anything too mattifying. I prefer to apply Airbrush Flawless over a primer as opposed to none. Primers gave the skin a little more glow and life.
Airbrush Flawless Foundation does not move, not only that, but it doesn’t fade or break up. Every time I looked in the mirror I couldn’t believe that I hadn’t gotten oily or pigment had caked in fine lines. My pores remained disguised and my skin flawless.
I did note that any little flaky bit seemed to really catch any product, so I wouldn’t recommend for dry or unexfoliated skin. But otherwise, it is a dream for normal to oily skin.
Nowadays, high coverage foundations make me a little nervous. I like to opt for lightweight, fresh bases and the thought of full coverage has me seeing visions of cake face. But, wow. What a surprise. Charlotte has bloody nailed it. It is FULL coverage without feeling heavy or looking like a mask. Instead, it is a second skin, looking perfectly flawless without collecting into lines or areas around the face. It stays put all damn day with minimal fading and maximum results. It is a little too matte for my personal preference, however, that is easily solved with the use of liquid highlights and hydrating primers. I think I’ve found my wedding foundation. Airbrush Flawless Foundation is just perfection.
