Being a beauty blogger, I share a mountain of products on a monthly basis. Favourites come and go, but there are a few products that have stood the test of time. For whatever reason, I haven’t spoken much about these faves, despite using some of them daily. Let’s take a little peek at the products I love but never talk about.
This mask does not mess around. Whenever my skin is feeling dull and tired, and in need of a facial, but I’m too money/time-poor to pay a professional, I reach for the Facial Radiance Intensive Peel. Full of clay, charcoal, and lactic and salicylic acids, this formula resurfaces, smoothes and brightens. And boy, does this mask tingle! Definitely not for the faint-hearted. My skin is always left significantly more glowy, refined and refreshed.
Ok, this device is spendy, but stay with me. As I hurtle towards my thirties, I’m finding my skin is starting to lose elasticity and tone. This device certainly gives my skin a lesson in tightening. NuFace Trinity uses a microcurrent to gently zap the skin into a more youthful complexion. And boy, do you see results with consistent use. Despite the price, I know I will be using this more and more as the years go on, and feel this is a great investment in my skin. A perfect, non-invasive device that you can use in the comfort of your own home.
Considering how much I use the Maybelline Tattoo Brow Tint, it is surprising that I’ve never really mentioned it. This clever K-Beauty inspired product gently tints your brows with a fun, peel-off gel formula. The tint lasts for a couple of days, making your brows look groomed and shaped, but without all the effort or time. Perfect for touch-ups between brow appointments or to keep your little caterpillars on their best behaviour at all times. Application takes about 3 minutes and then about 10 to process. Easy! I use the Tattoo Brow about 3 times a fortnight, I just wish they’d release more shades.
These eco-friendly microfibre pads are absolute staples in my beauty routine. They remove makeup with just water alone or they are perfect for removing masks or applying micellar water or toner. I love how gentle and versatile they are, and how they sustainable these products are. Absolute winner.
Dermalogica Super Rich Repair
This shit is legit. The most creamy, richly hydrating moisturiser that has graced my face. Dermalogica Super Rich Repair has been my skin’s saviour this winter. It soothes, nourishes and hydrates. It fixes flaky bits, sore or sensitised skin, dehydration – basically everything. If you need a lush fix all, this is your guy.
The BEST hair turban I have EVER used. It absorbs moisture out of my hair like nothing else, and after being on my head for a mere 10 minutes, my hair is much dryer than what it would be from using other turbans or towels. It doesn’t snag my hair, is lightweight and gentle. Worth the small investment for the health of your hair. Aquis is based on science, and their whole concept is about water damaging hair – highly recommend checking out their website.
Silk Pillow Cases and Scrunchies
My poor strands are at times, the most neglected part of my body. I spend so much time on skincare and makeup, that I often forget my hair. Being blonde, long and fine, my locks are pretty temperamental; my hair damages and dries out really easily, but I need products that are quick and easy to use. And what’s easier than silky satin goodness?! Silk pillowcases don’t suck all that glorious moisture out of my hair, nor does it snag when I toss and turn like a crazy person overnight (thanks, anxiety). I own quite a few but my favourite is by far Slip.
In the same vein, silk scrunchies are the bloody best. I pop my hair up into a bun overnight in one of these bad boys and it further reduces damage and snagging. My hair isn’t dented and all bed-hair-y like it would be using other hair ties, which makes getting ready in the morning a breeze. I recently got sent some from Playa, but unfortunately, I can’t spy them on the MECCA website. Shh Silk is another quality brand, however.
