Quintessential Aussie brand, Frank Body has been kicking goals for years. Their coffee scrubs revolutionised the industry, and they are now synonymous with, if not the face of A-Beauty. Branching out and trying something new has lead to the release of their Hair Care range. Consisting of a Scalp Scrub and Hair Mask, this duo is bang on trend. Let’s take a closer look at this caffeinated hair pair.
For the babe who wants healthy hair but hasn’t considered the skin it grows from: start here. Made with natural ingredients like coffee and rosemary, I remove product build up, detoxify your scalp to promote healthier, shinier hair that stays cleaner for longer, too. I think of it as skincare as hair care. So you can think about dropping it, flipping it and working it all over
your face the place once we’re done.

- stimulated scalp to encourage growth

Formula and Application
The formula is much more creamy and less scrubby than other scalp scrubs I’ve used. The coffee and mint fragrance is really energising and uplifting. It spreads pretty well in the hair, but it can be a little tricky to get an even application. A tip: squirt the product on to your fingertips instead of into the palm of your hand. This will give you more flexibility and precision to really get the product on to your scalp. I like to really give my scalp a good massage – with nails, to really stimulate and clean the skin. Plus it feels amazing.
Frank’s Scalp Scrub is really lovely. However, I do find it particularly difficult to wash out all of the scrubby bits, even after a second shampoo. You can still feel some of them in there after conditioning, but once your hair is dry they seem to disappear. After using this scrub, my hair seems to stay clean for longer, which is kind of incredible – My hair is so so so oily. As an avid user of dry shampoo, I love the way that this really gives me a deep clean, removing any product build up. While I haven’t used it long enough to provide feedback on hair growth, studies show that regular stimulation of the scalp can assist in hair health and length.
Mermaid hair is nice and all, but it won’t last if it’s weak: that’s where I come in. Made with natural, nourishing ingredients to help restore the hair shaft and hydrate the scalp, this two in one formula softens hair instantly and promotes healthier hair over time. Non-greasy and doesn’t weigh you down. The perfect partner in (hair) crime.
- Nourishes hair and scalp
- Contains Confrey Root, Coffee, Nicaciminde and Hydrolised Keratin
Formula and Application
The formula is really light for a nourishing mask – it has the consistency of a watery conditioner. This formula makes it easier to spread from roots to tips and you don’t need much product to fully coat your luscious locks. The instructions advise to leave the mask on for 10 minutes. Yeah, well, I don’t have time for that. I barely get a shower sans toddler nowadays, so a lengthy luxurious steam isn’t really an option. But, that doesn’t change things in the slightest, I still get the same beautiful results from minimal processing time.
My biggest issue with hair masks is the way they often weigh down my fine hair making it look limp and lifeless. But despite the huge amount of hydration and nourishment, this mask remains lightweight and effective. My hair feels soft, smooth, and swishy. My scalp stays cleaner for longer and my ends don’t dry out as quick. There’s dryness, no frizziness or tangling. I’ve used this mask in lieu of regular conditioner for about 3 weeks now, and every wash it feels stronger and healthier, and for the price? What a winner.
Frank Body Hair Duo:
Overall, the products compliment each other brilliantly. Hair is left clean, soft and swishy, while the overall health has drastically improved. Although the marketing implies that your hair will grow longer, I can’t comment on that currently. But I can definitely say that my fragile dry hair is much smoother and I’ve witnessed a little less breakage.
