I am a big believer in buying gifts that the receiver wouldn’t necessarily purchase themselves. Something that is suuuuper luxe and usually is a little bit too impractical to buy normally, but well and truly spoils your loved one.
There is nothing better than opening up a small, beautifully wrapped gift and seeing that high-end label and feeling all kinds of fancy. While Christmas can be expensive and blow the budget, sometimes you just need to spoil that someone special
On a tight budget? No probs. There are plenty of
inexpensive less expensive products that still offer the receiver that little touch of luxury.
Lipsticks are a really good option when you want to give the gift of luxury. They are usually on the lower end of the price scale while still perfectly packaged and loved universally by all beauty lovers.
My picks would be Pillow Talk by Charlotte Tilbury in either the Matte Revolution Lipstick, or it’s glossier counterpart, the Superstar Lips formula. This particular shade is very flattering on almost all skin tones, and the formula is just beautiful.
I recommended these last year, and here I am again. The Hourglass Confessions Lipstick set is so beautiful. This year the packaging is a stunning metallic Lilac. Not only is the lipstick formula probably the BEST I have ever tried, but the packaging is so extra, so boujee, that the receiver will whip them out and apply just for the sake of it. You can grab the refillable lipstick duo for only $49 – this contains two lippies or there are 2 larger options if you’d prefer.
Bobbi Brown has released an insane holiday collection. Seriously to die for. While the majority of the products are $$$ there are a few beautiful selections that will give you change from $50 note. My picks would be the Mini Highlighting Powder or Shimmer Brick. Even the packaging scream luxury. These are such beautiful pressies.
MAC always release swoon-worthy holiday products. My pick this year is the Extra Dimension Skinfinishes. This powder is so beautiful as a highlight, they contain a slight colour shift that takes these highlighters to the next level. better yet no need for wrapping, this cute little powder has a bow pressed straight into the powder.
Sol De Janerio has finally landed in Aus, and boy has it made a splash. This delicious creamy pistacho fragranced range is loved worldwide. The body butter is rich and creamy but doesn’t take too long to absorb and the body mist will have you smelling like a French patisserie. The Bum Bum Carnaval Magic gift set contains all the best products of the range.
Got cash to burn and a babe to spoil? Look no further.
Now, this is a doozy. And I haven’t even used it for that long…but I just have to mention the Charlotte Tilbury Stars In Your Eyes Palette. Let’s discuss. I wouldn’t recommend a product this exy if I didn’t think it was worth every god-damn cent. This baby is the pinnacle of luxury. From the outer casing to the glossy gold interior and absolutely beautiful eyeshadows, this palette is perfection. Stars in Your Eyes is one of those palettes that you can use every day and every night, regardless of what look you’re after. It is versatile, so user-friendly and appropriate for both the makeup beginners and MUAs alike. I would much rather have a palette that I used day-in, day-out of such high quality and practicality than have 2-3 mid range palettes that I didn’t love as much. If you want to spoil someone, this is how you do it.
Another recommendation from Bobbi Brown is the Highlighting Duo. Good Lord, this is beautiful. From the buttery formula to the detailed press and the unbelievably stunning packaging, this little duo is sure to impress. I have never met a Bobbi Brown product I didn’t love but this is next level. I honestly sit there in awe of this baby when I pull it out. If you have a lover of highlight, you cannot go past this little beauty,
I have been singing the praises of the Foreo UFO Mini for months now . If you have someone in your life that is passionate about skincare, then this little guy should be on your gift-giving radar. It is a masking device that gives you a facial, LED-light therapy, face massage and a sheet mask all in the palm of your hand. I am completely and utterly obsessed with this little device and can now not live without it. You can read more about it here.
Brand of the moment, Drunk Elephant is the talk of the town. With hard-working ingredients and a fun and kitchsy style, this is the skincare line to have sitting pretty in your bathroom. The Inspector Drunk Kit is a really good introduction to the line. The hero product in this kit is the Glycolic Serum – the alone costs $132, for only $11 extra you get 4 more travel sized products. Bargain.
Hugely popular, Peter Thomas Roth have released a number of gift packs that serve as a fabulous introduction to the brand, or a stock up on cult-favorite products. My pick out of the bunch would be the Mask Appeal pack which includes 3 of their most coveted face masks. Covering all skincare bases, the three masks will give the receiver (or yourself) the gift of clear fresh skin and also the opportunity to practice self-care. Who doesn’t want that?
I am big on fragrance. Whether it be for the home or body. Through the year I sample and sniff sooo many products and these two were absolute stand-outs.
I was introduced to the Maison Margiela REPLICA fragrances earlier in the year, and I was immediately taken by the concept, packaging and unique scents. The Discovery Set is such a great way to witness the beauty that is Maison Margiela Replica. This set contains a trio of the most popular fragrances and would make the perfect gift for fragrance lovers.
Givenchy Interdit Parfum is only a new addition to my extensive perfume collection, but it struck a chord with me instantly. Full of white florals but balanced with notes of pear, earthy tones, caramel, and vanilla, this fragrance is shamelessly elegant and chic. It has depth but is still light and easy to wear both day and night. My newest love would be a perfect addition under the Christmas tree.
