Best Gifts Under $50

As the holiday season draws nearer the need for gifts and ideas increases. With so many people to buy for, it can be difficult to not send yourself broke. But there is no need to compromise on quality for a budget-friendly price. Here are my picks for pressies under $50 for all sorts of important peeps in your life.

Gifts for the Beauty Lover:

I was introduced to this little Beauty Essentials palette back in September and I still cannot believe the quality for the price.  This cute little guy is packed to the brim with glitter and pigment – perfect for the party season and get this, it is only $10! Available exclusively from Priceline.

NARS never disappoints in the beauty department, and their holiday collections are always something special. While quite a few of their products aren’t what you’d call inexpensive, there is one offering that caught my eye. The Velvet Lip Glide set  ($35) is such good value for money. You get three travel sized products, in 3 universal shades. The formula of these are unlike anything else. They apply like an opaque lip gloss, but wear and stain like a liquid lip – you really do get the best of both worlds. Perfect for any lipstick lover.

Just because you need an inexpensive gift, doesn’t mean you need to skimp on quality. The By Terry Baume De Rose is a cult classic lip balm. It is the absolute definition of luxury. You can grab a cute little tree decoration with a travel-sized balm for only $29

Gifts for the Plant Lovers:

Do you have a budding plant lover in your life? How To Raise A Plant And Make It Love You Back ($21) is a bloody adorable book full of practical, easy-to-understand information on how to get the most out of your houseplants. Highly recommend.

Gifts for the Booze Hound:

It’s no secret that I love a little tipple. Especially this time of the year. As partial as I am to my old trusty McGuigans red at $7 a bottle, I also LOVE drinking something a little more fancy. Boutique Alcohol can be hard to buy, especially when you have a budget. But never fear. Crazy good Gin Distillers, Four Pillers, have released a premixed gin cocktail for only $32. You get three high-quality, delicious tasting drinks out of the one bottle and you feel fancy AF drinking this little beauty. Plus the cute little bottle doubles as a little vase long after you’ve enjoyed every drop of that bloody good gin.

Is the gift receiver still stoked with their aforementioned $7 bottle of vino? Not a problem! You can up their wine game with a fancy looking decanter. A decanter will aerate the wine to make it taste a whole lot better (because science? I dunno 🤷🏼‍♀️)  You can pick them up for as little as $19.95 on catchoftheday.com.au

Stocking Stuffers:

PHOTO CRED: HAIR&HARLOW

It seems like a lot of past trends are making a comeback and the hair scarf has come back in a big way. These gorgeous silk accessories will take your dull ponytail and make it look ridiculously fashionable and polished.  With such a range of colours and patterns, it is easy to find one that will suit who you are buying for.  Even if your babe isn’t big on hair accessories, these versatile little number can be tied to your handbag, wrist, neck – you name it. Best of all you can find them pretty easily at the moment. The Iconic have them for as little as $9.95

Mecca has a HUGE range of cute little Christmas tree ornaments and gift sets from various brands that are the perfect little gift accompaniments.  My personal favorites are from Mecca’s very own house brands, Mecca Max and Mecca Cosmetics.

Salt By Hendrix is a simply packaged brand that delivers big on beauty. Their lotions and potions are an absolute treat to use and they look oh-so-pretty on display. The body oils ($39.95) or Lip Glows ($19.95) would be my pick to stuff that stocking for ultimate street gift cred.

When You Have No Idea What To Buy:

Home fragrance is always a safe option when you’re unsure what to buy someone. Palm Beach Collection have released a beautiful holiday collection. My bathroom is currently donning the  Summer Bellini Mini Diffuser and Candle Set and people always comment on the summer-y fragrance when they come to visit. This little duo is only $29.95

Everyone and I mean everyone, could do with better quality sleep. Ren and This Works have both released holiday packs that will give the gift of restful sleep.  Ren Now To Sleep Spray Duo ($23) and This Works Dream Team Set ($19) are great options. I’ve used both of their products and love how peaceful it makes me feel before bedtime.

Who doesn’t love a scrub? Kane and I both do, Kane probably a little more so than me. Frank Body have released a brand newy – Green Tease Scrub. It’s a different take on their usual coffee scrub. This one is full of fresh-smelling green tea and even contains a fun little collectible tarot card. Probz will buy one of these for Kane as well. I hope he isn’t reading.

You haven’t finished your Christmas shopping if you haven’t picked up something from The Body Shop. Whether it be a Mother-In-Law, Grandmas, work colleague or something for yourself, TBS deliver when it comes to gift packs.  This year’s picks would be the deliciously fresh but sweet, and perfectly festive Peppermint Candy Cane Festive Sack ($30). This fragrance is especially perfect for the hot weather with its cooling effect.  I am also pretty taken with the Vanilla Marshmallow variation. This set is equal parts soft vanilla and roasting marshmallows. Perfection.

Everyone loves chocolate, but sometimes a box of favourites just doesn’t cut it. Up your game with something a little fancier and gourmet with Hey Tiger. This incredible ethical, Australian made chocolate brand boasts flavours like Espresso Martini, Cocoa Crumb and Macadamia and Peanut Butter and Pretzel. Seriously delicious chocolate.
