Nothing makes me happier than shaking off those cool winter months and feeling that delicious sunshine on my skin as everything starts to warm up. Not only do I rotate my wardrobe to put away the coats and dust off my sundresses, but I also opt for more Spring-appropriate cosmetics.
Now, I don’t know about you, but as soon as the chilly winter air dissipates, I find myself reaching for a more glossy lip option. These new Plenty of Pout additions just scream Spring to me. Boasting a plumping effect, these creamy lippies give you a wash of smooth, buttery pigment.
My favourite way to warm up my pasty winter complexion are these drops of sunshine. Any beauty junkie would know the ever famous laguna bronzer, but have you dipped your brush into this liquid magic? Smooth as silk, Liquid Laguna applies like a bloody dream and creates the most gorgeous sunkissed glow. Get amongst it.
Fragrance is my favourite way to transition from Winter and Spring. I love to pull out those more fresh and floral fragrances and put away all the smokey, deeper scents. Now I know you’re thinking ‘florals for Spring? How groundbreaking’ but stay with me. This is far from your standard Spring bouquet. This beautiful fragrance is full of pear, mandarin and jasmine while being balanced out with vanilla and amber. It sounds sickly sweet, but I promise it isn’t. In simple terms, It is fresh with a hint of femininity.
Skincare is another product that I switch out. As my skin starts to get a little more oily, I need to pull back on the rich moisturisers and opt for something a little lighter, but just as hydrating. First Aid Beauty Coconut Water Cream is right on the money. It has a beautiful light gel-like consistency while still packing a hydration punch. It absorbs suuuper quickly, plumps up the skin and makes me look as fresh as a daisy.
Mecca have recently released these little drops of magic. I’m sure you’ve seen different variations of liquid highlights at varying prices. But, these are just as good as any $60 bottle but for less than half the price. As the weather warms up and we venture outdoors a little bit more, a luminous base is a must. Liquid highlights are a little more natural looking than their powder counterparts and are easy to wear. I like to add a few drops to my primer or foundation to make me look lit-from-within. Then, depending on the day, I may add a little extra on the high-points of my face to get me glowing. These are also fabulous to highlight collarbones and to add a luminescence to the skin.
Are you excited for Spring?
