March Monthly Favourites

Monthly blog favourites are always my favourite posts to write, but I always go overboard. So many beautiful things land on my desk and I have trouble only selecting a handful of products to talk about. Usually at the end of the month, I am left with the massive task of putting fingers to keyboard to babble on about my most reached for of the month. I tried really hard this month to keep this post short and weed out products, but I don’t think I did as well as I’d hoped.  Oh well, you can read as little or as much as you like.

Melissa Allen Mood Essentials

These interesting little bottles landed on my desk here at BB HQ, and I am so glad they did.  My week days are spent listening to, and solving other peoples problems. Most of my days are filled with frustration, anxiety and a huge amount of emotional exhaustion. So, it goes without saying that sometimes I need breather or a bit of a boost, and Mood Essentials do just that. I love essentials oils and believe that they can positively affect my mood. I have been spraying I Have Confidence and I Have Calm around like you wouldn’t believe.  It gives me a little boost, and allows me a moment to gather my thoughts and practice a little bit of mindfulness.

Clinique Freshly Pressed Renewing Powder Cleanser and Daily Booster

Clinique have released a new range called Fresh Pressed, which is meant to harness the power of pure vitamin C to deliver remarkable results in a matter of days. And, holy brightness! These little packets of sunshine are just wonderful. I have been living for the powder cleanser in the morning to brighten my complexion, and the addition of the booster serum in my moisturiser, just works wonders! If you are struggling with lack-lustre, textured and uneven skin, you need to get these babies all over you face.

Murad Eye Lift Firming Treatment

I cannot express to you enough just how fabulous this eye treatment is. I will admit that I often forget to use eye cream, and my little peepers can be a little neglected. But not anymore! Murad has recently launched in Sephora Australia and this product is a gem. It is quick, easy and effective. But best of all it isn’t greasy, nor does it leave any reside, which makes it the perfect treatment before makeup application.  You pack on the serum under the eyes, then place on the little cotton patches and relax for 10. I actually use this time to do my eyeshadow and the patches collect any extra fall out. Win-Win. You feel a slight cooling, tingly sensation but nothing overwhelming, and after 10 minutes the serum is completely absorbed. My under-eye area is left fresh, plump and hydrated.  I use these 2-3 times a week, and it is seriously a product that I look forward to using.

Skin Republic

I have always been a bit nonplussed with sheet masks, yes they add a bit of hydration but I just don’t feel like they do all that much. I honestly feel that they tend to be a bit gimmicky, and I would just personally prefer a good old clay-based mask. I have only come across a few sheet masks that impressed me, and Skin Republic is right at the top of the list. I really really like the Bubble Purifying and Charcoal mask. It delivers the benefits of the ‘bubble mask’ craze in a simple sheet without all the mess. I have bought quite a few back up of these because not only are they amazing, but they are super affordable.  I also really like the Gold Hydrogel Mask. It really plumps up my skin and makes it feel so damn smooth. I have a few more Skin Republic goodies to try, and no doubt they will be in next months favourites.

First Aid Beauty Hello Fab 3 in 1 Superfruit Colour Correcting Cushion (Lavender/Pink/Green)

While all these gorgeous skincare products have been putting my skin in tip-top shape, I have been becoming more and more confident in flaunting a minimal base. This innovative little cushion has been assisting me with this.  The colour correcting formula does just that. It evens out skin tone, hydrates, hides any redness or sallowness and just creates a beautiful base. I prefer using this cushion by itself with maybe just a dusting of powder – Just perfect for those make-up free days.

Genie Cosmetics Line-Smoothing Concealer

This is  really a great concealer. It is light, but provides enough coverage to hide those pesky dark circles. The formula is creamy but dries down to a powder finish that works well underneath the eyes, and has minimal creasing. It blends out easily without too much effort and is great for daily wear.

NAK Aroma Oil

I have been using this leave-in oil for a little while now and it THE BEST hair oil I have EVER USED. This treatment not only hydrates, smoothes and adds shine, but it also protects your hair from heat styling – All bases are covered. Having fine blonde hair, I struggle to find an oil that nourishes my hair enough without it leaving it looking weighed down and limp. Regardless of how much of the oil I use, my hair is never greasy looking or over done; it just seems to drink it up.  The consistency is unusual sitting somewhere between an oil and a gel, plus it smells incredible. I CANNOT fault this, I LOVE it, I want to MARRY it and have silky-haired little oily CHILDREN with it (???) Can’t you how OBSESSED I am by all the CAPS!!!!!!

That’s it guys! Maybe I didn’t so badly afterall.

What have you been loving this month?

Until next time,

C x
