The long awaited Soft Matte Complete Concealer* is about to drop in Mecca. I was so so so fortunate to receive a little sneak peak at these highly anticipated pots. I have been a lover of the Radiant Creamy Concealer for many years. But as someone with quite pronounced smile lines under my eyes, I have never come across a concealer that doesn’t crease, and I have resigned myself to that fact. My lines are from smiling and laughing and you know what? There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. I like them for that reason alone. But I will forever be on the hunt for a concealer that just doesn’t sink into these little lines and my hopes lay with this little guy with big promises.
What NARS says –
Get high-performance correction with soft-focus blurring. Soft Matte Complete Concealer instantly conceals dark circles, redness, discoloration, hyperpigmentation, blemishes, and acne with a light-diffusing effect that blurs and smooths…. The formula delivers all-day wear and high coverage that’s non-cakey and won’t settle into fine lines and pores.
The formula is said to be enriched with loving skincare ingredients like collagen boosting peptides, hylaluronic acid to boost hydration and a heap of antioxidants and vitamins to give the skin an extra little something something. With continued use, the Soft Matte concealer is meant to reduce fine lines and wrinkles while plumping the skin. Making it a two-fold product that combines both makeup and skincare into the one little magical pot.
The packaging is as you’d expect from NARS. it is sleek, simple but 0h-so luxe. Housed in a clear pot, the shade is easily visible and it is all topped off with that all too familiar NARS rubberised black matte aesthetic. The pots are quite generous containing 6.2g of product. I love the look of these little guys, and although they aren’t overly hygienic, there wouldn’t be any other way to deliver this type of formula and a use of a makeup brush does cut down on contamination.
The formula is really soft and creamy, however it doesn’t feel greasy or oily at all. The concealer is super pigmented and I feel that I only need a couple of dabs of product to get my desired results. The product almost melts into the skin and requires little blending.
It dries down to a soft, satin-matte finish that almost feels a little powdery. I haven’t noticed a difference in wear when setting the concealer with powder and I actually prefer not to. Shock horror!
NARS Soft Matte Concealer works equally as well at covering imperfections as it does under the eyes, which I love! A couple of shades of this little guys is honestly all the concealer that I need in my life. Under the eyes I found a whole lot of brightening and dark-circle disguising and with only slight creasing for me. Plus it requires almost no-effort to blend out. The pigment covers a multitude of sins and easily hid any redness and pigmentation. The longevity is amazing and the concealer didn’t move around or fade. I would however imagine that this formula may not be the best option for those little cherubs out there with dry skin. I personally adore this formula and although it does slightly crease, it ticks all the boxes and is a fantastic all-rounder.
What are your thought? Does it sound like a winner for you?
