Pretty, Fun and Fearless – Ciate x Chloe Morello Palette

I was so so so fortunate to receive a highly sought after Pretty, Fun and Fearless palette that Chloe Morello created with Ciate. Having quite a few requests for swatches and a review, I thought I would quickly bang one up – Hence why the photos aren’t my best and it’s not my usual in-depth ramblings.

Straight off the bat, the packaging is gorgeous. It is adorned with rose gold flamingos, flowers and silver writing. This palette sure does stand out among my palette collection.  It is a slim cardboard design with a magnetic closure, and a really good size for the 15 pans inside.  The palette contains a lovely big mirror and more flamingos. Anything with birds on the packaging shoots straight up the top of my list. The pans are quite large and are set out perfectly.  There are beautiful neutrals and a couple of pops of purple for good measure. There are 6 shimmers and 9 mattes, which I think is a really good balance – I do love my matte eyeshadows.

Now on to the formula. Having never used any Ciate products before, I didn’t know what to expect. But man, am I impressed! These shadows, especially the mattes, are so very buttery and soft. The formula is easy to blend and very pigmented. I would even go as far as saying that they may be my favourite matte formula.  Some of the shimmers let me down a little, and don’t give me that punchy disco ball shimmer that I  am used to in other palettes. But, they are still super velvety and apply like a dream. They are really perfect for a subtle shimmer eye. The three matte shades called’my tribe’, ‘be sassy’ and ‘jet setter’ don’t really hit the mark either. Even though they are not even close to being chalky, I find the pigment is quite poor. The photo below shows this. The first line in the palette gives me life and I am so happy I have the palette just for these shades alone.

Purple eye shadows are not usually my style, but ‘fierce, flirt and day dream’ are really stunning, versatile shades. ‘Day Dream’ adds depth and more dimension to looks and is a great alternative to my usual go-to warm brown.

These shades are just stunning – Those mattes, though!

Overall, I am really impressed with the quality of this palette. Seriously, these mattes are just gorgeous and I would buy the palette just for those. While a few things didn’t quite blow me away, I still really like this palette. It is lovely to look at and the range of colours are really different to most of my other palettes. The palette also comes with a great little pouch bag, a mini Lip Velvet and Mascara – Which is a great touch.  I am super happy that this beauty is in my collection.

You can find Pretty,Fun and Fearless at Mecca for $70 – But be quick! It is limited edition.

Told you it’d be a quick one 😉
